Helpful Commands 3.0.0 [1.20.5-1.20.6]

Changelog

Yay, a global update!

The project was rewritten from scratch to fix some of the major issues, introduce support for the permissions API that you can use with tools like LuckPerms, fix most translation issues (especially on the servers), make command outputs even more interactive and vibrant, improve security, and, finally, make Helpful Commands even more flexible and stable.

Improvements & Integrations

Better support for servers

  • Helpful Commands is now purely server-side, which means your players won't need to download the mod when playing on your server to get access to its functionality
  • Fixed all translation issues
  • Improved console command output: no more strange symbols and ambiguous messages when using the mod in the console

Support for Permissions API and tools such as LuckPerms

  • You can now use Permission management tools for even more flexible configuration: determine which players or groups can use certain commands and who can configure the mod
  • If you can't use the command for whatever reason, it will simply be hidden from you, and there will be no autocomplete

Better target support and command output

  • Commands that support targets now display more detailed information in their output messages, allowing you to see all the entities or players that were affected

New features

New commands

Command categories

All commands now have a category. And the command list now displays all commands in a nicer and categorized way.

"Public" commands

Instead of setting OP levels for each command as in 2.0, you can now make the command public with a single click to make it available to everyone. By default all the commands are not public (restricted). Commands in the "Main" category are always public and this can't be changed.

Removed features

  • Removed hcEnabled game rule. You can't disable the mod now
  • OP level setting for commands. Replaced with "Public" commands

Other changes

  • For security reasons, only the host can now configure the mod on integrated servers. Other players will get an error, even if they have configuration permissions. This doesn't apply to dedicated servers where you can use permission management tools to allow certain players to configure the mod
  • /heal command can now be used on entities, not just players
  • Support for custom dimensions for commands such as /dimension, /home, etc.
  • /explosion command is now disabled by default
  • Default power limit for /explosion command is now 15

Your old Helpful Commands configuration is not compatible with this version, so you will have to reconfigure the mod after updating from 2.0!
