Better Vanilla Mobs modifies the stats of vanilla mobs by giving them unique characteristics and gameplay keeping the vanilla touch. It also adds some mechanics like making neutral mobs aggressive under certain conditions.

Main features

  • mobs get skills and stats randomly (rng). Chances increase with world's difficulty.
  • depending of the rarity (rng), some mobs will be terrifying, some other, pretty much vanilla.
  • the datapack adjust stats to the current world's difficulty. You can change it in the options.
  • hard difficulty can be really challenging (easy difficulty is vanilla like level).
  • modify mobs fiew seconds after spawn. Lagless, tested on multiplayer.
  • craft a Totem of Weakness to secure your bases and your mob farms.
  • last added mobs : Zombified Piglins and Wither Skeletons.
  • compatibility with many others popular mob datapacks.
  • 300+ of configurable parameters in the ingame options menu (patreon version).

Totem of Weakness

Craft and lit the Totem of Weakness to create a safe area. Mobs in this area cannot be enhanced, making them completly vanilla. Useful for mob farm and player bases.

Stats

  • quicker
  • random Fuse time +/-20%
  • random Explosion Radius +/- 1

Skills

  • Bait: play a sound behind the player and rush at them (rng)
  • Baby: get a 1 block size (rng)
  • Unstable: explode on damage, whatever the distance (rng)
  • Powered: get powered by lightning (1-3%) (rng)
Drowned

Stats

  • similar to vanilla

Skills

  • HitSlow: slow players on hit (rng)
  • FireResistance: do not burn in daylight (rng)
Enderman

Stats

  • similar to vanilla

Skills

  • LookFreeze: lock players's movement on eyes battle (rng)
  • LookBreak: Destroy defensive roofs (only smooth block #mineable/shovel) (rng)
  • Vortex: may force players into the void, teleporting them nearby randomly (rng)
Evoker

Stats

  • quicker, more tanky
  • invoked Vex will be upgraded by the pack (see Vex mob)

Skills

  • Root: lock movements of nearby players (rng)
  • Group Heal: apply a Regeneration effect on nearby allies (rng)
Hoglin

Stats

  • way more tanky, faster

Skills

  • Hotblood: is immune to zombification (rng)
  • Stomp: push player in the ground (rng)
Husk

Stats

  • way more tanky, slower

  • Passive Regeneration (rng)
  • HitSlow: buff nearby husk whith speed on successful attack on a player (rng)
  • BreakTorch: can break torches (rng)

Illusioner

Stats

  • similar to vanilla
  • may hide as a passive mob in Pillager Outpost, revealed on hit (10%) (rng)

  • EnchantedBow: have a punch enchant (rng)
  • Heal: can heal himself with magic (rng)
  • CooldownReduction: passive cooldown reduction on Heal, but also vanilla spells (rng)
Piglin

Stats

  • a bit quicker
  • can be turned into a piglin brute (rng)

Skills

  • Axe: use an axe instead of a crossbow (rng)
  • Tracker: chase you from far away (rng)
  • Trap: place a trap on the ground (rng)
Piglin Brute

Stats

  • more tanky, more damage, quicker

Skills

  • Armored: get heavy armor (rng)
  • Shield: get a shield and can pary most arrows (rng)
  • Rage: rush you on damage taken, after a quick moment of immobility (rng)
Pillager

Stats

  • similar to vanilla

  • FireRocket: sometimes fire with blue firework rockets (rng)
  • MultiShot: has a Multishot enchant (rng)
  • QuickCharge: has a Quick Charge enchant (rng)
  • IllegalCrossbow: get a renamed item if got the 2 enchants above.
Polar Bear

Skeleton

  • Fusion: close slimes can merge together, increasing in size (rng)

  • CobwebThrow: try to catch player with cobwebs at night (rng)
  • StickyPath: let cobwebs in its path (auto removed when player leaves) (rng)
  • Cocoon: can protect itself in a cobweb cocoon (auto removed when player leaves) (rng)
  • Mother: can summon baby spiders, also get way bigger, slower, and very powerfull (rng)
Stray

  • BreakTorch: break torches on walk (rng)
  • FrozenThorns: freeze the attacker on damage taken (rng)
  • IcePrison: prison a player in an ice trap (auto removed when player leaves) (rng)
  • FrostWalker: freeze water at feet's level (rng)
Vex

  • more damage (through weapons)

Skills

  • ArrowDodge: can dodge most arrows (rng) (MOJANG BUG: dodging reduce their speed to 10%)
  • Shield: get a shield, increasing their armor (rng)
  • Axe: get an axe to inflict max damage (rng)
  • DualSword: get a cosmetic sword offhand (rng)
Vindicator

Stats

  • faster, more tanky, more damage (extremly dangerous)
  • spawn in Pillager Outposts, replacing some Pillagers (30%) (rng)

Skills

  • DualSwords: get an offhand sword, increasing its speed (rng)
  • Brute: use shovel and cobblestone as weapons to stun players on hit (rng)
  • Rage: on taking damage, sprint and deal a heavy blow, but get poison effect (rng)
Witch

Stats

  • more tanky, heavy health regen

Skills

  • Summons: summon foes to help in combat (foes are vanilla, not enhanced) (rng)
  • StasisSpell: when low HP, freeze its body in dark magic for fiew seconds, regenerating health and being invulnerable (rng)
  • PassiveRegen: get a passive health regen (canceled by the StasisSpell) (rng)
Wither Skeleton

Developers infos All the handled mobs are tagged with fkbm.touched . To make my pack ignore a mob, add this tag on it: fkbm.ignore , or add the conventionnal global.ignore, smithed.entity or smithed.strict . To disable custom name for a mob, add fkbm.no_customname tag to the entity.
