Ruins of Growsseth
Feeling brave? You can try the latest in-dev build here on GitHub!
A highly configurable structures mod, with a smart data-based NPC to sell maps and guide you in discovery, and structures that hint to vanilla features taking inspiration from Broken Nether Portals. Also available on Curseforge!
Adapted from a mod made for the italian streamer Cydonia, as such also contains discs, trims, and more with content from his community and assorted easter eggs (also configurable). Also, it contains a custom world preset (Growsseth) that generates the world with the same seed as his run, and the mod's structures in the positions they were placed in it.
The mod features cut content and other features not seen in the original run, most importantly a progression quest for the Researcher NPC.
Finally, the mod can work alongside a web-tool to act as a Gamemaster to another player's run, similarly to Cydonia's original run, being able to spawn structures, tweak trades, and send notifications.
The mod is currently in Beta, so some issues might be present. If you find any, please report them to our GitHub.

Structures
The mod currently features 9 structures, plus a new house that can spawn in villages. The "main" structure is the Researcher's Tent, where you can find the Researcher NPC that can sell you maps to the mod's structures and more.
The other 9 structures are meant to guide the player towards vanilla features in a similar way as broken Nether portals and ancient city circuits, featuring incomplete conduit structures, broken noteblock circuits, enchanting table tips, and more. Some features might be well known by Minecraft veterans, but the structures are still nice additions to any world. Full details on the structures are found in the wiki. And remember, if you're at the bottom of the sea, look for a weird floor tile...
Researcher
The Researcher is the main (only) NPC of the mod. This weathered villager will sell you maps to the structures, react with dialogues to many actions (you wouldn't deface a fellow traveler's tent, would you?), and will handily defend himself from mobs and from you with his trusty dagger. The Researcher has a quest-like progression by default, unlocking more structure maps as you discover more, until the time he may need your help instead...
Items and easter eggs
The mod includes many music discs with music from the Cydonia&Chiara community, especially from Il Coro di Mammonk. Included tracks are:
- Binobinooo
- Giorgio Cubetti
- Giorgio LoFi
- Giorgio Finding Home
- Giorgio Cub8bit
- Abbandonati
- Ancora Qui
- Sega di Niente
- La Ballata Del Respawn
- La Missiva Nell'Ombra
- Odi et Amo
- Oursteps
- Elogio a Padre Mammonk
- Il Tesoro Di CacoCaco
- Pesci Strani
Some discs allow crafting with amethysts to turn into a vocals version. Other items are an armor trim, pottery sherd, and banner pattern with Cydonia's logo, and special rewards for ending the story, one way or another.
Some familiar faces might show up as easter eggs...
All the items in the mod are only found in the mod's structures or sold by the Researcher (depending on settings), and the easter eggs are configurable.
World Gen
The mod offers a world preset, Growsseth, featuring the seed in Cydonia's series and fixed spawning points for the mod structures as in his series. The structures will also be found in the same order.
Game-master mode
Using a webtool (that can be downloaded from the Releases Page on GitHub) and enabling the relevant mod settings, the mod can be controlled by an external "Gamemaster", that can control structure spawns, Researcher trades, send notifications, and more. This feature is disabled by default for security, and was adapted from the original mod used in Cydonia's run.
Configuration
Configuration Info
The mod allows you to disable every structure (including the village houses), and in general enable or disable every part of the mod. Using Mod Menu for a simpler configuration UI is recommended.
Server language. The language of the structures' texts (books, signs, etc.) can be configured server-wise. Currently only en_us and it_it are available, but languages can be added by datapack.
Researcher. The researcher can be switched between multiple modes; by default every Researcher across the world is treated as the same NPC memory-wise, but this can be disabled, also removing trade progress and making trades random more like a regular villager. Fighting and mob interactions can be disabled.
Data-sync. To use game-master mode, data-sync must be enabled and pointed to the Gamemaster URL (see the Wiki for more information). Make sure to only connect to trusted players!
Growsseth world. The position of each structure in the Growsseth preset can be changed via settings.
Datapacks. Various mod features, such as Researcher dialogues, trades, and structure texts, can be configured via datapack. See the Wiki for more details.
