Additions

  • Shape Group HUD: The shape groups of a spell will now be shown in the top left corner (by default), with the selected shape group highlighted
  • Light block: The Light spell component now uses its own block instead of the vanilla mapmaker light

Changes and Fixes

  • Fix magic xp not scaling with stronger spells, this also now makes leveling considerably faster
  • Fix damage not always applying correctly, and allow multiple damage spells to properly stack
  • Fix various small issues with the rituals

Additions

  • Implemented the Beam shape.
  • Implemented the Chain shape.

  • Implemented the Mana Blast component.
  • Added tags for spellcrafting starting and finishing. These contain a Blank Rune and a Spell Parchment, respectively. Gameplay behavior remains the same; this is intended primarily for modpack/datapack makers.
  • Added translations for subtitles and statistics.

Changes

  • Chain is now located in the Offense tree, between Beam and Damage.
  • Water Breathing is now a Green part and slightly more expensive.
  • Some spell recipes have been changed.
  • Updated compendium entries for various spell parts, including the ones that were newly implemented.

Removals

  • The hidden Mana Shield component has been removed in favor of the Health Boost component. Health Boost also reuses the assets that previously belonged to Mana Shield. This is because in AM2, Mana Shield appears to have been duplicate content; it did the same thing as the Shield component.

Fixes

  • Fixed spell book scrolling in the offhand (#380)
  • Fixed mana and burnout attributes not reapplying correctly after death (#382)
  • Fixed a render crash related to infinity orbs with invalid NBT data (#390)
  • Fixed various smaller issues encountered during development

API Changes

  • Datagen has been reworked. All of our data providers now inherit from a common superclass that contains some (mostly IO-related) functionality and defines the base methods. If you work with data generators in any way, this mainly means some renaming.

Fixes

  • Fixed obelisk vanishing when you put fuel in it

  • Creative mode players now have a "Create Spell" button in the inscription table GUI.
  • Moonstone ore now spawns in rare meteorites on the surface! These meteorites also have water in them.
  • Sunstone ore now spawns in the nether, directly adjacent to lava.
  • Celestial Prisms and Black Aurems are now obtainable in survival (and, as a result, so are light and dark Etherium).
  • All hidden spell parts are now available via secret spell combinations. Good luck finding all of them!
  • Added Witchwood signs.

  • Moonstone and sunstone blocks are now the strongest cap materials to build the altar with.
