This Zombie Infection Mod adds the functionality that Zombies are able to give you a deadly infection.

Please note: with version 1.5.1 the Forge/NeoForge versions of the mod use two config files for server and client (old common config files are ignored).

When a Zombie hits you there is a chance that you get infected (default 80%). Armor will lower this chance by a value of up to 60 (with full Diamond/Netherite). If the infection timer runs out you die instantly.

Infection

Starting with version 1.5.0 a small display with the current protection value against infections was added (e.g. a value of 20% means, out of 10 times a Zombie hits you 8 hits will most likely infect you). The protection value display can be enabled/disabled and moved in the settings on the client config page. HUD (protection display)

Killing a Zombie has a 7.5% chance that Contagious Flesh gets droped. The Looting enchantment adds 2.5% per level.

Contagious Flesh

Heating up the Contagious Flesh will give you Heated Zombie Flesh, which is not contagious anymore. Cooking Contagious Flesh

When you combine the Heated Zombie Flesh with Gold Ingots you get Gold Streaked Zombie Flesh. Eating the gold streaked flesh resets the infection timer, but it does not cure you.

Gold Streaked Zombie Flesh

In the last step you brew yourself The Cure, combining the Gold Streaked Flesh with an awkward potion. Brew the cure

You can extend the duration of the cure potion with Redstone and turn it into a Cure Potion II lasting 3x as long. Cure Potion II
