1.18.2 Update!
HexLands is now on both Forge and Fabric, with a unified code base, to allow much more seamless maintenance of both mod loaders. Under the hood there are many changes to how this mod works, due to Mojang rewriting everything... AGAIN.
- The overworld and nether both use similar styles of hexlands generation. Minecraft's "Biomes don't determine the terrain" philosophy does change how this looks, although the style is still similar to previous versions.
- Height based borders are completely gone - this sort of mechanic just doesn't exist in 1.18 onwards to know what the "average height" of a biome is, since biomes themselves don't determine height directly. Hex borders are now uniformly distributed around sea level.
- Explicit compatibility with biome mods that modify the overworld, nether, or end has been removed. However, there still should be fairly good implicit compatibility, as HexLands was able to switch to some vanilla call paths that should pick up other mods biome generation overhauls.
