This is a fork of the original Unmending enchantment to bring it to the newest Forge versions.
Mended Mending is a very simple mod that nerfs Mending without making it useless. Should you install it, you'll find the following changes in your game:
Items that already have the Mending enchantment will no longer repair with XP. Mending can no longer be applied as an enchantment. Applying a Mending book to an item resets the "extra repair cost" that accumulates as you repair an item, thus preventing "Too Expensive!". You can do this as many times as you want. If an item already has Mending, it'll get fully repaired and its extra repair cost resets if you ever repair it in any fashion.
"But why?"
Just like the original developer Vazkii I do not like that Mending breaks the gameplay loop by making mining unnecessary. Once you have your perfect tools, you only need XP to keep them forever, rendering mining for resources useless. As mining is a fundamental aspect of the gameplay loop, I tried to find a way to change that, when I came across Unmending.
This implementation still feels ideal, as it restores the need to acquired resources to repair your tools, while still keeping Mending relevant and useful by giving you the ability to keep your tools forever.
And with this port, it's now available on the newest versions.
