MKDrinks

MK Drinks is the first mod I have created, as a learning experience, and to fill the void for smaller, shorter consumable potion effects that can be made before entering the Nether. From there, I also wanted to experiment with custom furnaces, provide more uses for vanilla materials, and add new gear, in particular a better bow than vanilla. All of this resulted in the mod contents, which I tried to draw together into a single, coherent theme; the power of cola drinks and their bottles

To begin, craft a Crucible, using four bricks, one iron ingot, a furnace, and three cobblestone (See JEI for recipe shape.) This block, which must be placed over a campfire to function, is the heart of MKDrinks, and will let you forge sand into specialty glass for making drinks.

MK Drinks is built on Java for Minecraft 1.16.5 via Forge. A Fabric version may become available when and if I learn how to port mods to Fabric and have the time to do so. MK Drinks will not be backported to previous versions of Minecraft but will hopefully be updated for future versions, likely starting with 1.18. Please feel free to contact me with bug reports if you encounter any issues; my ability to quality-test my mods is limited as a solo developer, so bug reports are always handy.

Special thank yous to:

  • Kaupenjoe, vectorwing, and diesieben07, for indirectly teaching me how to mod Minecraft via tutorials, forum threads, and open-source repositories. Though I have never spoken to any of you, you all have been a big part of my daily work these last few weeks.
  • GRUULBBY, for being an excellent sounding board and tireless moral support.
