RLFoliage is a fork of BetterFoliage, a client-side cosmetic mod that adds many cosmetic features such as improved leaf, grass, nether-rack, and soul-sand rendering, among other features.
The primary change of RLFoliage is it removes the "Round Logs" feature and the related supporting code as it causes a non-insignificant amount of memory usage, even when the feature is disabled, due to its implementation. Mods such as DynamicTrees already supersede the point of the "Round Logs" feature, however, even when disabled it still occupies memory.
In tests between the original BetterFoliage and RLFoliage, memory usage savings of between 100MB-200MB were gained, however this number will also likely be higher if you play on higher chunk render distances.
RLFoliage has been tested to be working, however if you have any issues please report them to the linked issue tracker, not the original mod's issue tracker.
