A collection of resource packs, inspired by the famous video game, God of War!

(Requires: OptiFine, 1.19+ and a Shader [internal works too!])

Some useful tips before submitting your bug reports:

  • Make sure you have the proper version of OptiFine installed for the appropriate version you're playing on.
  • Go to Options -> Video Settings -> Quality, and make sure Custom Entity Models is turned on!

You can:

  • Showcase the resource pack in any format if you credit me.
  • Share the resource pack with the Modrinth link.
  • Use the resource pack on any server.
  • Modify the resource pack for private use only!

You can't:

  • Claim the resource pack as your own.
  • Modify the resource pack for public use.
  • Reupload any contents of the resource pack to anywhere.
  • Showcase or share the resource pack without properly crediting the author.

About

As the name suggests, this resource pack replaces the trident, the sound effects of the trident, and has extra "reactive" animations.

Leviathan Axe Reactivity:

  • When the weapon is thrown, the runes light up.
  • When the weapon is in your hand and you are in rain / water, the runes light up.
  • When the weapon is thrown, a contrail effect appears behind the weapon. Once it lands, both the rune and contrail effects disappear.
  • When the weapon is impaled into an object, and is in rain / water, a glowing effect appears around the handle (provides better visibility underwater if you throw your weapon and it can't return).

Mjolnir Reactivity:

  • When the weapon is thrown, the runes light up.
  • When the weapon is in your hand and you are in rain / water, the runes light up.
  • When the weapon is thrown, a lightning effect appears around the handle and it will leave a big lightning trail behind the hammer. Once it lands, both the rune and contrail effects disappear.
  • When the weapon is impaled into an object, and is in rain / water, a lightning effect appears around the handle (provides better visibility underwater if you throw your weapon and it can't return).

The runes and effects have emissive textures, meaning they will be glowing in the dark areas (does not emit light level!)

WARNING: If you play in another language other than English (US), the following changes are NOT gonna be applied:

Renamed stuff in-game

As an extra feature I've renamed the trident enchantments and the trident itself, so it fits the lore aspects of God of War.

Leviathan Axe

  • Trident renamed to "Axe".

Enchantment renames:

  • Impaling = Strength
  • Loyalty = Recall
  • Riptide = Frozen Whirlwind
  • Channeling = Lightning Grip

Mjolnir

  • Trident renamed to "Hammer".

Enchantment renames:

  • Impaling = Strength
  • Loyalty = Recall
  • Riptide = Lightning Dash
  • Channeling = Lightning

Extra Credits

  • Model, texture and animation by Szombie.
  • The sound effects were originally made by Sony's Santa Monica Studio's God of War Sound Design Team! These were edited to fit Minecraft by Szombie.
