  • Change: Piercing no longer lets spears/tridents/blazearms pierce through entities. It does still let it penetrate through shields with lower levels of Shielding, and let it penetrate through with 50% chance for equally matched levels.

  • Change: Skewering now mutually exclusive with Piercing, preventing a bug when the two are together.

  • Change: Thrusting now no longer grants a damage bonus while walking/standing still.

  • Change: Thrusting now grants an extension of reach by 1/4 blocks per level.

Ongoing Issues:

  • Some mod loot tables are currently unenchanted/unaffected by Looting. This will be addressed in a future update.

  • +bettercombat version when Better Combat is updated to 1.21 (Might take a while, this recent update cycle probably affects the mod significantly).

  • Addition: Swordsman & Spearman Villagers now target mobs in tags #sassot:swordsman_villager_targets and #sassot:spearman_villager_targets. Use datapacks to customise. Default contains raiders and zombie variants except zombified piglins. Vexes are code-wise conditioned to be targeted when its owner is in a targets tag.

Minecraft 1.20.5-6 has been the biggest technical update in a long time. Consequently, SASSOT 1.1.6-1.20.6 is also the biggest update to SASSOT in a while. Below are the changes:

  • Fix: Various weapon bugs fixed from previous version.

  • Fix: Redundant velocity addition for projectiles fixed.

  • Fix: Skewering now properly works against Players.

  • Fix: Teleportation (command/ender pearl) now properly unskewer entities.

  • Fix: Mob spear entities now spawn the correct spear type that they are holding.

  • Fix: Spear and blazearm rendering/texture fixes.

  • Fix: Whirlwind/flare texture bug fixed (no longer sometimes shows trident riptide texture).

  • Fix: When Fresh Animations is enabled, villagers now hold swords/spears properly in animations.

  • Change: Maces deal damage based on motion speed instead of fall distance. Smash attack bonus is added when ((density/2 + 1)*speed) is larger than 1, multiplying the base attack damage (scaled by cooldown) by that amount.

  • Change: Non Undead Mobs now throw spears at the player default max release speed.

  • Change: Shield disabling probabilities too low, this has been fixed/rebalanced.

  • Change: Tool material and shield durabilities nerfed.

  • Change: Thrusting & hacking bonus damage nerfed: +30% -> +15% per level

  • Change: Critical damage factor nerfed.

  • Change: Spearman & Swordsman Cillagers now work at night instead of the day, and have a chance to rest during the day each day cycle. Chance to rest is lower for higher world difficulties. Villagers at half health or lower will always rest for that day, until healed.

  • Change: Spearman & Swordsman Villagers gain XP twice as fast.

  • Change: Weaponsmith Villagers do not change Fighter Villager's weapon if it is enchanted or has a custom name.

  • Change: Drowned trident & fishing rod equip chances balanced such that ~8% trident at Normal difficulty, 0.33 local clamped difficulty.

  • Change: Vanilla Shield now has a slightly different texture to distinguish from Iron Framed Shields.

  • Addition: Added resource pack complementing Fresh Animations. Turn it on with Fresh Animations for the best experience.

  • Addition: Piercing is now applicable to spears/tridents/blazearms.

  • Addition: Groundshaking can now be enchanted on maces, exclusive to Wind Burst. Custom enchantable tag for maces included.
