The witcher medallion is not only an insignia of our profession, it is also one of its tools. It has numerous useful capabilities that are accessible, of course, only to one who possesses the necessary knowledge and training.

- Vesemir, The World of the Witcher

Inspired by The Witcher series of books and games, this mod add functional Witcher Medallions to the world of Minecraft!

Features:

  • Added 6 different medallions from each Witcher school plus an Ancient Wolf Medallion inspired by the design of the Netflix show, they all work exactly the same, they only differ aesthetically.
  • The medallion you have equipped will have a "soulbound" enchantment by default, so you will keep it even when you die.
  • The medallion has two ways of detecting monsters, passive and active.
  • Since 2.0.0, the medallion can also detect specific blocks with a strong passive detection.

The passive way:

The medallion will vibrate when any enemies are nearby, and all of them (except the Ancient Wolf Medallion) will make animal sounds, each of their respective animal, this works even if you don't have the medallion equipped.

Equipped

New in 2.0.0!

Strong detection:

This is a special type of passive detection, it will detect magic blocks and strong magical mobs, the medallion will vibrate more aggressively and they will make different sounds than the normal passive detection.

The animation changing when detects a Warden.

The strong detection finding the End Portal.

The active way:

Only if you have a medallion equipped, you can press a key (default T) to give to each nearby mob a client-side glowing effect. This has a small cooldown before you can press the key again.

Nearby mobs glowing.

The glow effect is selective; by default it will affect only "magical" mobs, such as undead mobs.

Crafting:

In 2.0.0 version!

First of all, you will need to forge the deactivated medallion in a smithing table with a chain, an iron ingot (if you have a mod that adds silver, you can use a silver ingot instead) and a representative material from the Witcher School:

*For the Wolf School: Bone
*For the Cat School: String or any fish
*For the Bear School: Leather, Raw Salmon or Cooked Salmon
*For the Griffin School: Feather
*For the Viper School: Fermented Spider Eye
*For the Manticore School: Raw Beef, Raw Porkchop, Raw Rabbit or Raw Mutton
*For the Ancient Wolf Medallion: Paper

You can now equip the deactivated medallion as a necklace, but for make it work you are going to need to activate it with a concentrated magical source; the Magic Nucleus:

With this magical source in your hand, you can finally activate the medallion! You just need to use the smithing table and combine the Magic Nucleus with a medallion and a magic catalyst:

As catalyst you can use any of the next items:
*Gold Ingot
*Lapis lazuli
*Amethyst Shard
*Echo Shard
*Blaze Powder
*Ghast Tear
